Stockport · Voices together

Come and sing.

No audition. No need to read music. Nothing to book. Just turn up on a Tuesday and see what happens.

BE BRAVE. BE BOLD. BE A BEECHIE.THE BEECHIES · STOCKPORT
Your first Tuesday 01 / 03

Nothing to
prepare.

The hard part is deciding to walk through the door. Everything after that is easy.

We rehearse every Tuesday from 7 to 9 pm at Bridgehall Community Centre. You don’t need to book, bring anything, or let us know you’re coming — just arrive when you’re ready.

If it’s easier to sit and watch for the first half hour, do exactly that. Nobody minds, and most of us remember what it felt like to be the new one.

01

Walk in

No forms, no waiting list, no audition. Rehearsal runs every Tuesday, 7–9 pm.

02

Settle in

Sit and watch for a while if you’d rather. You’re welcome to simply listen first.

03

Find your part

We build harmony in sections, so there’s a place for every voice. We’ll help you find yours.

The questions everyone asks 02 / 03

Ask away.
Honestly.

Every one of these has been asked before you, usually by someone now sitting in the second row.

Do I need to audition?

No. There’s no audition and nothing to prepare — you don’t even need to sing a scale. Turn up and join in.

Do I need to read music?

Not at all. We learn by listening and singing together, so sheet music and previous choir experience aren’t needed.

Do I need to book a place?

No. Just walk in on a Tuesday evening between 7 and 9. There’s no form to fill in beforehand.

Can I watch before joining in?

Yes. Plenty of people sit and watch a rehearsal or two first. That’s completely welcome.

What does it cost?

Membership is £12 a month. Come along and we’ll talk through the details when you’re ready.

What should I wear?

Whatever you’re comfortable in. Rehearsals run for two hours, so wear something you can relax and sing in.

Is it a women’s choir?

Yes — The Beechies is Beechwood Community Women’s A Cappella Choir, singing without instruments.

What happens on my first night?

Come along and we’ll help you find somewhere to settle and a section that suits your voice. There’s nothing to prepare.

You don’t have to call yourself a singer to join in.

The practical bits 03 / 03

When, where
and how much.

Everything you need for your first visit, in one place.

If there’s anything else you’d like to know before coming — parking, accessibility, bringing a friend — send us a message. We’d rather answer it than have you wonder.
